How would I feed a herbavore and carnivore at the same time without overfeeding my fish. (different foods for each, which means more food)? Or is there some kind of food I can give to both of them?

You could put in a clip of nori and feed mysis shrimp depending on the fish.

That does not mean "more" food. It means you put in enough food for each fish of the given food. Whether or not you do it separately or at once ain't got much to do with over feeding...

I've seen carnivores and herbivores eat flakes...

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Some frozen foods like Rod's Foods have both plant and protein. You can actually see pieces of marine algae floating around when you feed. It also have a lot of vegetables like carrots and some green vegies.
