    problem solved... inlet is threaded to the float valve. i never got a sure answer that it was threaded, so i just twisted the crap out of it and it broke loose...
    eshopps, if you see this....just leave the inlet off the float valve or re-write the directions to let the consumers know that it is threaded and that it will be tight so they wont worry about it breaking to unscrew the inlet so it can be mounted in the bracket.... :angry::confused::angry::confused: gees!!!!
