It was the blyxa...some of it was just rotting. I talked to the guy who sold me it and he said he grew it immersed. But as of today the smell is gone and everything is looking good. (knock on wood)
Thank you very much
Glad to here. Here's to clear sailing from now on.
Well, my cycle has completed and I am patiently waiting for a mini heater to arrive so I can house my crystal reds The blyxa is browning a little and I don't like it. I hope it's just temporary and it'll turn around. Other than that everything seems ok! I added a diffuser for my DIY CO2 and it seems to be working nicely.
Here are some pics
Diffuser on DIY CO2...looks good

Thank you divott. It give me great satisfaction...this being my first freshwater tank ever (knock on wood) that things are going smoothly.
You should try one? hehe
I dont know how I missed this thread, but better late than never. That little tank looks SWEET!!! I love the contrast between the black substrate and the green plants and if your going to add some red fish, "BAM, thats what Im talking about!!!" So now you have a SW and a FW tank, this boy has some talent. Keep the pics coming.
