Sump looks good, just a little worried about overflow from the tank when the power goes out - those baffles are high not leaving much extra room - is there enough left over room for overflow from the main tank?[/quote]

If one would drill a small hole just above the water line into the water going into the tank pipe this would stop the siphon back into the sump and hince no wet floors.

    Very NICE!

Bamboo screen a great idea...will provide good ventilation to the sump area...

    GOOD JOB!

not sure but i was planning to leave the water level in the tank about 4 inches from the top ... i thought that should be safe

oh btw i talked my LFS in to upgrading my tank from a corner drill to a mega flow tank for no charge :)

for those who are keeping tabs on what i am spending to look at thier own start up cost

    stand 65 USD
    fuge 77USD
    Euro-Reef ES5-3 skimmer 263 USD (on backorder [smiley=bigcry.gif] )

so far i am at 405 USD and 20 man-hours

if i had bought this pre-made i would have spent

    stand 95 USD
    fuge/skimmer combo 583

total cost 678 for a savings of 270 USD

so by doing it my self i saved enough moned to buy my tank and sump pump

please not all prices where taken from my LFS and include KY state tax of 6%
