    dry fert...like from lowes and then mix myself?

    Sort of but I would suggest ordering from Green Leaf Aquariums or someone like that. You will get commercial grade fertilizers. While you are at it check out their links to the EI dosing method and PPS dosing methods. These will give you a good idea on what you are looking for. I spent the same amount for 6lbs of various mixes that I paid for 2 liters of one Seachem liquid fert. You still need another 4 mixes of the liquid ferts to get all the ferts you need. You will also need GH and KH additives possibly.

    Thanks for the help 2in10....I guess this is really trial and error stuff..once you get the basics down...If order all the dry fert i need..then what other liquids will I need..I have pretty hard water, how close to I need to watch that?
