Sounds like a match. I hope it isn't since you moved the firefish.

You could pull him back out, do a FW dip and put him pack in the other tank

How do you do FW dips? How long would I keep him in the RO water?

I have paired up clowns in that tank - I wonder what would happen?

I have read 3-5 minutes. It causes hyposalinity in the parasites and they drop off, the fish is fine because it takes them longer to feel the affects of it and by the time they would, they are already back in the saltwater.

Sorry about your favorite fish. Hopefully, everyone else will be ok

I can't believe this, I'm so sorry to hear about this :( Did the fish have any visible trauma, reddening, discoloration, if so, where? The fact that you just moved everything, and did not add anything suggests parameters. However, IME sometimes diseases seem to stay dormant in the sand for much longer than most of the references suggest. So, possibly stirring things up released something. Or it could have been something bacterial, there is always bacteria and stress can weaken immune systems. The firefish jumping out almost seems like it could be voltage or something. There could have been a number of reasons, tough to say. Sorry for you losses....

Thanks guys. Well, 3 of the 4 fish died. My clownfish is still alive - and is acting perfectly fine now.... WHAT THE HECK?! I'm going to post a new thread with a timeline of everything that happened and see if anyone can piece together anything from that.

Thanks for a ll your help on this thread. Means a lot to me.
