Get a big pvc tube and send it to the bottom that way. Or some people use trash bags and put the whole bag in, sinking to the bottom, then slowly pulling the bag away leaving sand.

I'd get a styrofoam cooler and put the rock in it while you do this. The rock will be fine. put some wet paper towels on the rock if you want to keep it wet.

Pull out any shells or stuff that you don'yt want buried, Then buy your live sand ( live sand won't ususlly cloud your water cuz it is wet) open the live sand load it into a baggie close baggie sink to bottom of tank, open baggie, slowly pour out the sand and reload. Try not to spill all over the live rock.

I mentioned it before. You need a 100 more lbs to get 4 inches.
Check out the calculator at the bottom of this page:

with more sand will that lower the ammonia and nitrite. If i have LS in my refuge will some of the critters go from there to my main tank.
