    Ok I will be setting 50 gal tank its 36" x 18" x 18"

    1 need a nice t5 light for it under $300 ( can be retro)

    2 has anybody used the look alike bak pak skimmer from ebay

    3 a good fuge

    And it all has to be hob I'm goin to be runnin a fluval 404

    for lighting i have a 46 bow, 3 foot tank, i have the 4x39 t5 tek light, it was about $350, and great light. Should work ok for your 50

    Yup, that would work perfectly. It is a great setup.

    The four bulb version would work for everything PGirls said. You would only be able to do SPS at the top of the tank though. If you upgraded to the 6 bulb version, you should be able to grow anything in it including SPS down low as well as your more light demanding clams.

    here's a pic of my fixture. The Tek's don't come with hanging kits so you'll have to purchase one separately or you can do a DIY hanging kit, which is what I did. It's a nice light, i don't have corals yet but i like it, no noise and it makes the tank look real good. I have my tank in my room which is in the 2nd floor, i live on a culdesac and i can see the light way down at the start of the street, it's that bright, so awesome lol
