I need to fabricate a nice lid out of plexiglass that will be snug for after hours when I am on not around. I am serious, this will be on a boat, so there is swinging involved. Securing to the desk will be easy, but the lid is a bit harder.

I will definitely try putting my bubble coral in here with some sand and a piece of indo rock from my tank. The bubble should be a fair test of the stock lamp with this Dymax. I hope to have this setup by next week.

Any updates Matt? So the stock LED will be enough to keep a bubble in there you think?

I don't know yet. Just going to be my first attempt.
UPDATE - Once Big Als gets the new lid in I can give this a go. My boss agreed to let me have it as long as I have a lid and velcro the tank to my desk. Probably happen this month.

    UPDATE
Finally ordered the lid for this from Big Al last week.
I plan on setting this up very soon with some old tank water from a water change.
Will put this on my desk at the office. SHould be fun.

You still plan on a coral and a shrimp? Sounds cool! That thing looks ridiculously small... We kept a 3 gallon in our jobshack with a little brown mantis shrimp that the lfs gave us for free. We also kept a damsel in there with a couple of small snails. Pre-mixed water from your local chain store or water change water will make taking care of it pretty easy.
