Would that go before or after the skimmer?

    Here's what I got.

You want it on the return line, the clear vinyl line running from your pump back up to the tank. So you can slow down the flow back to tank. Your overflow is rated at 700, but you said your pump is 1200. That can be a bad combo. You want it to be the other way around, the overflow to have a higher GPH than the return pump. So you need to throttle down the return pump with a valve or get a smaller pump.

Also, be careful if you are still adding water to make it stop, you can overflow the DT.

Yeah, I only added a bit to see if it would stop. For the moment, the return is off.. How do I attach a pvc valve onto vinyl though?

Get a PVC ball valve with threaded ends. Then get male adapters to go to tubing. They have both in Home Depot. The male adapters are dark gray. Then just need some thread sealant tape for the male threads on the adapters, and hose clamps and you are in business. I used plenty of these adapters for my 125. You can see a few examples here:

Thanks guys. Glad I won't need a smaller return pump

You can try wolsely on second ave around the corner from the ford dealer, they will have the valves you need, they will even have one that comes with the fittings already in the box. It's made by IPEX, just tell them you need a barbed valve in whatever size that tube is.

I decided to just use a ball valve. I installed it yesterday. So far so good!

It wasn't.. I read it wrong. But it's still a bit low, so the dosing I did, didn't hurt.
