Like stated I have 3 aquablue+, 3 actinic+ and 2 6700k,... I might turn one of the 6700 into blue+ or maybe even actinic+.... But we will see. According to PAR tests the bulbs I choose did VERY well... Thats why I choose them!! ;-)

well Frag i think you made me change my mind, i need to change my order anyways b/c i ordered the UVL 10k's by accident and really didnt want them in the first place, now i need to change that to all G-manns bulbs, i hope your right.

upon closer inspection the blue+ sais its a 60 white 40 blue, would that be a good stand alone bulb or are actinics better appealing for the eye and coral?

The aquablues are either a stand alone or a 1:1 or 2:1 to actinic, they WILL grow coral all by themselves!! It depends on the look you want nano... What color do you like? I like blue hence the desire to add more actinic+, I skipped the TRUE actinic because I didn't want the violet and I wanted the most PAR possible for 8 bulbs, I believe balancing PAR and looks I did that

Yeah I was led to believe 420 was better, until I read that the Current 460 puts out more Par than the UVL 420.... boo!

So, I realized I never mentioned the livestock in the tank or any of the params....
    SG-1.027
    Temp-80
    Ca-440ppm
    Mg-1330ppm
    Alk-10dkH
I have a purple tang(Z.xanthurum) an orange shoulder tang(A.olivaceus) a flame angel(C.loricula) a six ine wrasse(P.hexataenia) a scooter blenny/dragonet-female(S.ocellatus) a pair of true perculas (A.percula) and 5 green chromis(c.viridis) I've had as many as ten before I added the other fish but the darn heirchy always brings the total down to 5!!
As far as inverts and corals I have only a hand full of crabs-dwarf red legs(which is odd as I am always a fan of alot) but they do the trick! I have 2 cortez turbos and they are getting huge, one is going on 4 years in captivity!! I have maybe 3 or 4 margaritas and a slew of strombus maculatus and some other unknown snail like invert perhaps a type of abalone. They arrived as hitchhikers and exploded, the other night when the tank lights were off I counted 21 strombus in a 6" squared area. That probably is the reason I can get away with so little of the larger snails. I also have 3 sand sifting stars that I plan on relocating to fellow reefer's tanks.
A lone Hawaiian feather duster wraps it up(I believe) for inverts...
Coral, I have a bunch of large patches of star polyps both green and that nuclear green, I have two lone litophytons as far as softies go, and a couple nicely colored zoo's. Unfortunately I gave into pressure and sold just about all my fantastic zoos so Im down to like 5 choice colors.... I have monti digitatas, monti caps, tricolor valida, green and pink birds nest a few assorted acros, a pocillipora an acro jacquliene(sp) and I'm sure I'm forgetting some. For LPS I have that green brain, candy canes, a hammer and frogspawn, an acan echinata, an acan lordhowensis a couple of favias and most likely others.
Sorry for the long stock list but I never properly listed the tank.

I will post some more pics in a week or so to show some better growth. As of now the only ones with serious visable growth is the blue polyped digi and the pink birdsnest, the others are either just encrusting or slower growing.

    Until next time....
    Thanks for viewing!!

Its time for the one month pic updates!!
I decided instead of going super pic heavy this installment I would post all the corals that have had NOTICABLE growth in the last four weeks, some have almost doubled!!

First is the purple monti cap... Notice the almost one inch of growth on the right side. It also encrusted a good cm onto the rock.

The monti neospongodes also has put on a lot of new growth, this big piece shown here and the small one next to it look different everyday.

This pink birdsnest is a favorite of mine, it grows quick and colored up very nicely in my tank. I can't wait until its huge!

Heres the birds nest, hopefully it works this time....

This purple m.digitata has put on a few little branches. It is starting to fill out a bit, last month it was just a y shape without all the growths. Its polyps look great when extended at night.

This is BY FAR the fastest grower! I notice a difference everyday when I come home from work. Its a German Blue polyped m.digitata.
Take a look at the first pic of it a month ago compared to now, its great. Now it just needs to get its color back!
