    Just changed my 110W VHO Super Actinics. WOW!!!:eek: Can really see the difference. The spectrum shifts over the course of about 6 months so I add that to my scheduled maintenance. I change my Halides for the same reson about once a year.

    my old compact fixture had old bulbs also. I had cyano eating the tank alive........now with halides, i have none :D

    Don't forget to adjust light period back significantly after changeing to new bulbs.

    I did not do enough a couple of months ago, and my anemones bleached out. Still not recovered. :-[

    It is a big difference.What I do when I change my bulbs is I write the date that I changed it on the new bulb.

    I use Outlook every day so I set a reminder every year for the MH's and every 6 months for the actinics. Only way this old brain can remember anything. Lost too much of my short term memory in my early 20's :smoking::beer2: :wacko:

    Believe me, I can't remember what I had for dinner last night. LOL...I bulb changes on my calendar in my iphone...There would be no way I would remember otherwise..8)
