ok i know proteins skimmers have reduced efficency in fresh water.

i am curious as how they work on high organic system, such as ponds, goldfish or predator tanks.
i see pond ones for sale, that look like basic old fashion marine ones like 10 years ago. TMC: Commercial - Freshwater & Pond Protein Skimmers

im just trying to get some feedback on how well they work and how well you would think a cheap marine one might work like a octopus or coralife(I cant believe i sold my coralife before trying this, im kicking my self). anyway i think im convinced they will work on a dirty fresh system. due to the fact my coralife would skim some stuff in a fresh and vinegar bath(i already checked vinegar doesnt bubble like soap).

I'd like to know too. My son is digging out the burn pit, which 30-40 years ago was a koi pond. The guy who built this house, built the pond in 1956-1957. Every time he poured more concrete he would mark the date in it! Took him a year to surround it. Pretty cool. Hubby said I can do another one in there, since I had to take my tank down. (I know what you guys are thinking and I have no idea)::):-/
