How many sock do you use , where are they, and how do you clean them?

    I couldnt run my main return pump (hammerhead rated at 6000 gph) at full throttle cause the filter socks couldnt handle the flow, so out they went.

    um..... my option isnt up there. I dont use socks, OR a skimmer. ATS only on my system. Dont like mechanical filtration. Tried it once and it caught too many cretures that I want in my ecosystem, including pods

    use a sock before my skimmer, helps keep the pump from sucking up a large piece of crud they are a pain to wash and change but the pump on my skimmer is much worse to change lol

    just a skimmer a small CuC in the sump and no sock on mine just filter fiber i replace every 2 weeks with my water change couldnt be happier no waiting around for the socks to be done.

    No sock, just skimmer in sump.

    But, I am considering adding a sock. Cleaning up detritus in sump is tough. No CUC eats that poop.

    I use a sock.
    I clean them with bleach.
    It's really not much work if you have enough in rotation.
