Just put it around where they are sitting instead of taking them out.
Looks like you are going to have a sump running in the next couple of days.....:p
    Good job!

Hey ! Otty ! It looks really great! I'll have to give it a try. The only problem is the lack of space in my cabinet and the fact I'm afraid of leaking pipes :p

I wound never cover a tank because that is where it get all of it's oxygen from...gas exchange from the surface water.

i have also built a diy sump/fuge using a 55g that was laying around.im currently on my 4th version.its been a trial and error thing.i do have a 30g that was my original sump on an earlier tank so i agree with the comment earlier about having a back-up sump to use.especially since ive changed my configuration several times.in fact im getting ready for version 5.0 :) by changing the partitions and removing the fuge section that will be split between an added 40g breeder above the 55g and a 10g going above the 90g(both as fuges

i am currently building my sump and i used 3/16 acrylic measuring
15.5, for the the bioball chambers which will hold approx. 12gall of water. its a 30gl sump for a 125 gl tank by the way.

now when i filled it up with water the glass would flex a bit when its full.
but the glass was tight during installation. i put egg crates to significantly reduce the flex.

should i be worried about this or is it ok. ive been testing for a few days and it seems fine.
