Nice! Glad things finally came together for you.

Just so you know, your sump is larger than my whole damn tank...

I've got the bug bad and I thought I might as well make one big enough for a larger display tank upgrade later on. I have to get comfortable with this 55 gal first before I invest in a 180, 200, or even a 300 gal. Bigger is better...right???:laughings

Interesting use of eggcrate there. Funny how this hobby gets you building are sorts of things out of eggcrate. In fact, I am sitting next to a sheet of it right now. I seem to have uses for it all over the house.

    Nice sump Otty!

Thanks Matt, hey I got one question. When I pipe the pump back to the display tank I am gonig to have a T-valve so I can regulate the water flow. The pipe that I will use to return the excess water back to the sump/fuge, should it come back to the area where the return pump is or take it back to the inlet side to be skimmed and pass through the fuge again????

I think you mean "back to the sump", right?

I'd just send it back to the pump section. I hear that that's the area that shows low water due to evaporation.

I did mean the sump, I changed the wording. I thought the same but just wanted to make sure. I left the pump area 10" high by 10 1/4" wide so I would have plenty of room for water evaporation. I do controls work and logic for a living so I will have me a nice auto fill hooked up before too long. I will probably use a nano logic PLC to do the thinking, they are only $110.00. They have 6 inputs and 4 output that I can use sinking or sourcing. I will make a redundant circuit to make sure I don't flood anything. Might even have a robot add the water......:LolLolLol

As long as it works and doesn't get the floor wet then it's a keeper.
