DIY Success with $5 Cad Lights Skimmer Mod

After a month of testing I am ready to declare the $5 Cad Lights Hoover Belt Mod a success. Only minor adjustments were needed after a couple sump restarts from a water change and general maintenance. Otherwise, the hoover belt held the water line throughout the testing period and the Cad Lights pipeless skimmer performed very well as shown from today's skimmate picture. For me, a stainer on the pump input was needed as well to keep refugium chaeto strands from affecting it as well. If you are in need of a skimmer with a small footprint and have been looking at the pipeless Cad Lights skimmer, this is a small investment for stability.
