or try using the sweating hose they use for gardening also u might not want a storm every time the tank fills as it would with a ato make it a separate system that follows the weather in the caribbean and replicates it in ur tank

    Here is an idea

Make an acrylic tray with sides on it about 2 or 3 " high then mount a bunch of leds on the bottom (you could cut holes in the tray and flush mount the LEDs and then make some type of a box to seal it on the inside of the tray......getting my idea.....lighthood rain maker tray combined into one.
then drill a bunch of holes in between the lights.....

Now you have a really cool light fixture.....only drawback would be spashing from the tray being 6-12" from the surface of the DT....however you might be able to make acrylic "walls" around the top to hold the splashing in.....your rain fall would look cool with all the light shineing through

What do ya'll think about the potential for salt creep?

Also are there any negative effects to topping off into the display in this method rather than the sump?

also time is gonna play a big factor ur top off will have to be a few gallons to get any real enjoyment out of it or have rreally small holes and instead of rain have a dribble
