    Thanks PDCCO,

Making what you NEED is all part of the fun.

The acrylic snow will some times show up months after that project has left the shop. LOL

Here is some of the analness coming out in me.
I didnt like the clear base on my smaller reactors. I found some 3/4'' black laying around and got busy
    [IMG]

I hollowed out about 1/2'' of the black, flush cut the 3/8'' clear base and made the hole in the black 1/8'' larger in diam. than the tube. So now the reactor sits down inside the black base. A better seal , and it looks good.

Drilled a 3/4'' pilot hole for the 1/2'' tap
    [IMG]

Tapped a 1/2'' hole using soapy water as a lube
    [IMG]

Also taped the flange for the nylon nuts

    1/2'' hose barb

So we shaped some funnels to fit snuggly into the tubes

Modded some 1/2'' couplers to slide over the 1/2''pvc
    [IMG]

cut some slots on the pvc
    [IMG]

    sorry for the blur
    [IMG]

    production line
    [IMG]

We used 1/2'' uniseals for the plumbing going thru the top
    [IMG]

We added a few holes in the 1/2'' pvc pipe on this unit, It is going to be used for a carbon reactor

This is the large carbon reactor. Ready to get wet. He used a pump rated for 700gph, Installed a gate valve to adjust the flow.
When he put it in his sump he was pleased with the flow and the carbon tumbled as planned, He said that on the others we needed to add better screening top the top to keep the carbon in the reactor. No big deal

The smaller ones were for myself and a prize for a contest. I wanted to make a few improvements to them for my own piece of mind. I'll start with the finished product, then explain what I changed.

The top is basically the same with the exception of the union placment

A shot of the gutter guard on the top media catcher
    [IMG]

    Water out stayed the same
    [IMG]

    Top down, rubber O-ring
    [IMG]

This is were the changes came into play
    [IMG]

I drilled a couple holes in the bottom cap and added some small slots at the top of the funnel, which has also be made smaller around. It does not fit snug to the side of the tube
    [IMG]

The inside coupling has been drilled instead of slots cut
    [IMG]

The media cap is not stationary I can remove it for cleaning or height adjustment

    Dah Dah

I have another model that has some different mods coming up next
