I wonder what 2 red and 2 violet would look like on 20 Led fixtures. Maybe get a seperate driver, dimmer for both.

Faceofdeceit, I disagree with you that 72 LEDs will cook the corals for netspawn's tank. The purpose of 72 LEDS on that size tank is to get full coverage throughout the tank with the proper spacing of 2" to 3" for the LEDS. If you get dimmable drivers then you can control the intensity of the light and not cook the corals and still get coverage with no shadows. If the drivers are not dimmable then I agree with you. Chisel, anything between 3" to 12" above the water you can use 70 to 90 degree.

I like the heatsinks they have as well! Cant beat the Chinese price. I think Id use them when I re-DIY my LED for my 90!
    Great find!

    any par on these yet?

i agree with decit, 72led's is too much for your tank.
if you want coverage , raise the led up and use optics.
go to reefledlight, and go to led my tank, they'll show you how to get full coverage of your tank.
i saw a 40gallon build with 24 led and the par on the sand is about 80.
why get a buncha LED then dim it?

and also the best combo is 2:1, 2rb for every 1w.

btw, bridgelux is the same led used by the evolution led by reefkoi.

wow, these things are crazy cheap! ...whats that saying 'if something seems to good to be true...'? lol

either way, thinking about getting some of these to test out my DIY skills before deciding if i wanna do a whole tank.
plan on using the end product as a fuge/frag light if possible. anyone know if a frag light would be terrible over a fuge?
think my fuge is around 15" x 8" from memory and depth will depend on sandbed but will be less than 12" water, so thinking a dimmable 24 or 36 kit with 2uv, 2 red and rest 2rb:1w.
    thoughts anyone?

    Hey guys,
I am also thinking ofbuying this kit.
I was looking at the 90 LED kit for my 48" 110 gallon tank.

My question albeit a stupid one, is what do i mount these on?
Do i need a cover or to protective housing to prevent water damage/corrosion?
My tank is 48" can someone please clue me in.

I think I am going to try the Aquarium 14 LEDs DIY Dimmable Kit in my 14 gallon biocube. Has anybody tried this? I wonder if I can buy the kit at a discount without the heatsink? I would just buy the one over at nano tuners and use that instead since it is pre-fabricated to the hood.
