I see it now! What is the dimension of the angle irons? Are they fixed on the heat sink with certain sturdiness? I see only 2 screws on each one. And where did you get them from? If you dont mind me asking?

 

I got a single 8' piece of 2"x1/2" angle from McMaster Carr.

Correct, there's only 2 screws on each one. As each one isn't really supporting any weight, it's plenty sufficient.

How many lights would you need to totally convert from 4bulb t5's on a 75gal that is 48x18x21

I am keeping lps, softies no sps yet but maybe.

 

I'd say 40-48 dimmable. Just incase you want to jump to SPS. Ask Rapid...I'm sure they can give you a better idea than I.

 

There really isn't a clean answer to that question, but the rule for today's LEDs (typically regarded as a CREE XR-E) is: one LED per every 10-20 square inches of surface area. The heavier end of the scale is good for SPS, the lighter end for softies. Somewhere in the middle for LPS.
