    lol i think i will spend the 16 on the gray gate valve.. everyone says ball valve will work but idk.. line you said i dont want the trouble later on.. but this thing is massive lol

    Lol, that is EXACTLY why I went with the ball valve. I saw that gate valve and said holy sh** that thing is too huge.

    i have yet to see a gate valve in a local store that is "reef friendly"
    all the ones around me have metal in them. ive only ever seen all PVC ones online.
    just make sure you get the right one!

    im not sure if it is or not.... it is a spear gate valve, gray with red nob... the gate inside is pvc too... it looks like its all pvc

    ok ya the spear ones are all pvc. local builder here uses them on his skimmers. looks like your good to go!
