    I did just that same thing Camilsky. When my xenia was looking shriveled up and shrunk, I removed the carbon. It slowly got better, since then I have used the carbon again and have been dosing the iodine weekly. Its been working great for me.

    If you like having the extra carbon, just try and start dosing the tank with iodine. I have both and it is a great working combination.
