So my new clowns were in perfect health and I am curious if these small black spots that have been popping up are a issue. It started out as 1 spot on one fish and now is apx 3 spots on 1 fish and 1 on the other. I think they might be hyper-melanization. If so is this something major to worry about or will it correct its self? You will notice the small black spot on his right fin and also one semi out of focus mid side.

I will say upfront that I do not have any knowledge of hyper-melanization, so hopefully others who have more knowledge of that can chime in and provide better advice.

I will say, however, that I have seen a few posts on her lately with clowfish developing sting marks from nems or other corals that are kind of like a bruise. So you may want to keep an eye out on them to see if they are rubbing up against any corals as that may be a possibility.

    Best of luck resolving this.
