    You may keep upto 2 or 3 discus in your tank. I would prefer going for a 3 unless they are a mated pair, else either of them would turn aggressive and beat up the weaker one to prove their hierarchy (cichlids :) )..Having 3 of them always spreads the aggressiveness around ...But having said this i would prefer if you could have groups of 6 in a tank (preferred magical number ;) ) ..So a 60G tank is a more preferrable one if you are planning to keep discus on a longer term....

    I have kept discus and am currently breeding them as well...

    My Tank

    My tank measures 36" in length & 18" deep. Perhaps I am wrong. Maybe it is more than a 30 gallon tank. ( DAH ! )
