Discus tank "Im a NewBe"

I know you don't wanna hear it ... but I wouldn't buy discus then

 

So could two live in a 20g if its just them and water is good ?

 

No ... Discus just get too big for a 20 gallon tank, there is just no getting around it.

A 20 gallon would be perfect for some small tangs. I should clarify ... when talking freshwater, tangs are tanganyikan cichlids.

Some small shell dwellers would do well in a 20 gallon, and they have some of the greatest personalities of all freshwater fish, super feisty.

Lamprologous Meleagris is one of my favorites

Neo Occelatus is good, Neo. Brevis is nice, and Neo. Multifasciatus is nice as well.

Do some reading on the Tanganyikan shelldwellers ... I think you'll really like them

 

Not to mention, they're nice and easy to spawn.

It took me almost two years to get a spawn out of my blue maze discus ... It didn't even take two weeks for my first meleagris spawn!
