    I had pea sized gravel in mine but only 1 layer so less than 1 cm thick
    just to make the Discus feel more secure and to give it a natural feel to it
    when you only have that much covering, your syphoning at water changes does remove a lot of stuff that would have stayed there

    LOL I found that a 30XH fits on my sand so it's now 30g witch means more water to change for the same affect :(

    I retured a few things anyways


    30XH tank
    24" t5 42watts
    Ex70 with sponge
    3 50 watt heater (free so why not)

    Am I ready to start adding water ?

    For food would mysis,blood worms,krill be ok ?
