    That's a good post in that it shows you understand the "cycle" of nutrients. However, dinos are typically removed via siphoning, removing light, adding phosphate remover, and nuking the dino's with raised pH levels.

    SOOOO, would it be possible that my chaeto is dying which released the p04 and iron that cause the sudden bloom of algea and it wasnt the water change that i did?

    Cause my chaeto hasnt grown in the 2 months that ive had it...like at all. And from everything i read that is not typical

    I just changed the bulb to a 5k today. Its really really light green. not dark like i was when i bought it.

    ...negative on nitrate though. I tested every way till sunday

    Pull half of your Chaetomorpha out and give it to a reefer friend or your LFS. Regular pruning will keep it growing and absorbing phosphates, Iron, and nitrates. Technically, you have EXPORTED a nutrient using a macroalgae until you remove a portion of that macroalgae. Until it's removed from your system, it's possible for nutrients to be re-released into your system and then you're just stuck in a vicious cycle.
