ZC42, I think you have a lot of great advice with starting this thread. Go slow and see what suits you best. A lot of people have tried corals that just simply don't agree with their tanks, and then found some that absolutely love their set up. You'll have to do the same thing, but so far you've got the right idea. The best advice to give, don't add too much at one time, and go slow. Best of luck.

Thanks! Would adding LEDs to my existing 2 bulb work well?

That's what I'm looking into. It seems to be an inexpensive way to upgrade to LED by doing a combo kit. 2 strips of white cree, with 2 4ft actenic vho's I've heard will work. Once again I'm still researching, but logically I don't see why this wouldn't work.

Easiest way to really get a grip on understanding this is goto the LFS....

Buy a hammer coral and buy a Birds Nest or Bird of Paradise coral.

You will easily be able to tell the differences between LPS and SPS just by observing the two different corals.

Also there is a third catagory, leathers. Which are things like Devils hand, toadstole, green star polyps and zoanthid colonies.

Also anemone's are totally different from leathers and LPS.

When LPS and SPS die, they leave behind a skeleton, when an anemone dies it looks like a snot rocket.

Not sure what zoanthids look like dead, and I'm also not sure if they are considered a leather either

    The blue/magenta is my favorite.

I have a 50/50blue/white, an all blue, and a blue/magenta Panorama Pro installed over my 29g

    They are beautiful
