This is something I might do after the fact. I did think of it....but then poo-pooed the idea because, "Hey, it's a house. The structure is sound!!!.". OK....well, I thought it was a valid presumption.

So Bryce....you just built a bracing structure extending to the ground on yours?

Checked and shimmed before I filled it up. Only a 40 breeder.

I have a rather large crawlspace so I measured out where the tank was and put 3 sets of 2 cinder blocks. I then measured from the top block to the joist and cut 4X4s 1/4" longer. I then wedged the 4Xs between the block and joist. Kinda rigged but it works. I had all the stuff laying around. Make sure you level the blocks too!

I shimmed and leveled mine before and after adding anything and made sure it was still level after the leak test.

I had the addition to the house designed to hold my 220 with additional bracing. Then checked the tank if it was level then filled and then rechecked. Good thing to check out when installing the tank.

I didn't check mine until now never even thought of it (and I work in construction) got lucky it level long ways but leans toward the wall a 1/4" which might explain my corner overflow filter issue

never checked or shimmed anything before, never really needed to but this tank seems to be heavier in the front as the water line in the back is down quite a bit.... oh well.

Heh. Well you might be able to get some 'shims' under the stand if it's only 3/16 off. :)
