Diatoms look like dino?

    I just recently hooked up my sump(added ALOT of new plastic). I have what looks like diatoms all over my rocks but not much on my sand. Can diatoms get thick enough to look like dino? The algae isnt "powdery" like when i had my first diatom bloom, but more like a carpet and it peels off if you touch it.... :S

    Ive cut back on how long my lights are on by quite a bit. Also the algae produces alot of bubbles, some stick but alot of them just blow off after they get to big.

    Could be dino or cyano. Can you get pics for a positive ID?
