Hello, being a FOWLR 135g you could use a MF121. I wouldn't use a MF121 on a 135g reef... but it's rated to 200g so would be ok. The next size up the MF161 would be great, but I don't have any MF161 demo left.

i m setting up my 1st tank and have an Aquamedics T1000 used. not sure how well T1000 will perform, should i just get the MF161 now or wait? I probably should not consider MF121 since not sure if i'll go reef.... how often do you have the demo sale?

    Hello,

It's just a one time sale. These were models we used for display and/or photography. When they're gone they will be available at dealers at retail pricing. MF121 retails at 289 and the MF161 retails at 349.
And compared to that other skimmer, there's no comparison. These are really nice skimmers...

i see MF161 is not cone shape.... is there a difference (cone vs no cone) in terms of performance? many people seems to prefer the cone shape...would that be your MFK181 model? Thanks again.

The cone shape MAY be a little bit more efficient but at the same time carries the disadvantage of smaller internal volume and in the case of the MFK181, a weaker pump than the MF161. The MF161 uses the ES2800 pump while the MFK181 uses the ES2000 from the MF121. So in the end the MF161 is a more powerful skimmer.

Will do. I cannot believe we have not run into each other this year at all  Guess that means we are both busy (just alerted the world to 1 of 2 products we are launching at MACNA).

Do you still make any media reactors like the one I got from you last time?
