he would've been eaten in the wild, they have a very high mortality rate. Hell I'll probably eat him when he get of size.

the fiddlers you are seeing have not been declawed, instead you are seeing the females. Males are the only one that gets big claws.

I am sorry but I think this thread is to only get people rilled up

no it was for opinions & advice. And to discuss with ppl scientific info which may be beneficial to others.

It wasn't meant to be controversial.

I wonder if people on cat forums freak out when someone says that they are going to have their cat's de-clawed? Or, maybe a group picket in front of the vet's office with pictures of cats with their claws ripped out squirting blood?

    I find the idea interesting.

I also find "political correctness" to be like, well...

There's a big difference between declawing a cat and declawing a crab.

Declawing a crab is closer to de-legging a cat.

declawing a cat is the amutation of the first knuckle. a cat can live very comfortably without its claws (though i would never have this done to my Pi-xiu, i lubbers him too much) as we feed them kibble and they pick it up easily with their mouths. crabs use their claws to bring food into their mouths so eating would be hard. i wouldnt want a hungry crab because when his claws grow back he's gunna nab a swimmer.

So, the consensus of the animal cruelty is it won't be able to eat? With one claw it still won't be able to eat? A crab will die if it has not had food for how long? It won't be able to eat after it molts because? And it hurts a crab to have its claws removed just as bad as ripping a cat's legs off? Analogies of booger picking and smashing thumbs with hammers?

A crab needs its claws to survive.

If you have to change the way a specimen is or acts in order to keep it..well, then you probably shouldn't keep it.
