Those of you that doub T5ho's really need to experience them, in full and proper fashion.

IE, single parabolic reflectors for each bulb.

They have been proven to make as much, if not more PAR than MH, with less watts, even on the sandbed of a deep tank.

The reasoning that they make more PAr than MH does is that the MH is a single light source, while the t5s are a giant tube o light, so more photons get to the bottom of a tank.

I use MH with t5ho, and I know that t5ho are not only a supplemental light, but another form of light.

I like glitter lines, I admit it, but that is pretty much the only reason I use halides with my t5s.

I had a t5ho only 35g for several years prior to my 90g.

I use the Tek 6 bulb fixture over my 65, it is MUCH better than the nova extreme pro. The reflectors are simply better than in the NEP and you will get better light output. I would run the tek fixture with this bulb combination.

    ATI Blue Plus
    UVL Actinic White
    Blue Plus
    GE 6500K Daylight
    Blue Plus
Blue Plus or ATI Aquablue. (Aquablue will give it more of a 12K with actinics look, Blue Plus more of a 15-20K look)

Thank you. This is what I'm looking for. Have you used both?

I have seen both in action at my firns house, 2 30 breeders are on the same system. the top one has a NE 4 bulb, and the bottom one has a tek 4 bulb.
Both do about the same for lighting, and that is not the pro nova.

Any of these will work, but the tek would really fare better with an active cooling like the nova does.
