I have noticed the tips on my tan with purple tips take on an almost electric blue color under my T5s on the colony near the surface that shows even with the white lights on from the correct angle. I have another at mid level in the tank and it along with the other colony under my dawn/dusk lighting of one actinic and one ATI Blue Plus show the electric blue coloration.

Dingo is this a Valida? Slowest grower in the tank. Never showed any Red Bugs but perked up after the treatment. It always seems like a sickly acropora to me. It is higher in the tank and may need to go lower, I do not know, but I would like it to grow more. The polyp are cream colored if that helps.

This is it in October, just a rescue frag.

What it looks like today. It is right next to the RP. Which seems to be a fairly hardy acro, I would think the valida would be doing better.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Yeah I believe that is a valida... Its growth is not classic valida pattern but is still similar.

I have always had the best success putting them in the middle to lower level of the tank. They grow nicely there and oddly enough usually seem to color up better there!
Im pretty sure it will shape up soon though. It split a lot of ways and is showing purple growth tips so it's probably ready to start growing better.

    Thank Dingo,

Much appreciated. It needs to start growing already. I like the purple blue tips, but that is about it. I guess I should also mention that the original piece or frag broke and there is other pieces is about 1 inch in size so I guess it is growing somewhat. I had hoped it would have the green polyps but I guess not.

    K+
