Just got home and found my naso tang dead. All other fish seem fine and parameters are good. Any ideas what happened?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Did you do basic water chemistry?
How long had you had the fish?
    How old is the tank?
No signs of disease like marine ich, internal parasites?

A lot could be going on..
Gonna need some more insight as to what your situation is.
Is the fish old or new?

It is a 220 gallon tank that I've had for over 5 years. The naso has been on the tank for almost a year and was doing fine last night. Eating, etc. No signs whatsoever of disease or parasites. It is at present a fish only tank with a yellow tang, a trigger, yellow banded butterfly and several chromis.

    Boy, nothing jumps out.

Any possibility the Trigger was harassing the Tang?

If he had, I never saw him do it. It's frustrating to say the least. I have heard that new nasos sometimes don't make it in a new tank and no one seems to know why, but I had this guy for awhile.

I agree carailline ,nothing jumps out as a problem..
Sometimes fish just die ..Any idea how old the naso was..I know you said you had him a year ,but what about before you got him..Was he a juvi when you got him?
Crazy thought ,but nasos do jump.Is your tank open?Maybe he jumped out at night and flopped for awhile before managing to get back in but it was too late ?
    IDK,just throwing ideas out there..

He was about 3-4 inches long. Not a juvi. Don't think he jumped out but you never know. This hobby is at times the most discouraging endeavor I've ever been associated with and at other times, one of the most enjoyable. Sitting here depressed like I just lost my best friend.
