A few days ago I mixed some new salt water using RO/DI water and D&D Pro Salt. Once mixed I tested it and it had .50 ammonia... waited about 36 hours and tested again and it was at 1.0???

When making salt i heat the water to 78 and have a pump and an air stone in the bucket as well.

Is it just a bad batch of salt? I have tested the RO/DI water and it comes up at 0...

    Thanks
    Matt

Could there have been a source of ammonia in your mixing bucket? Left over water that is pent up from a previous mix can cause the mixing container to have a mini cycle.

Maybe but I always rinse it out with hot water and then dry completly with paper towel.
