    Yes, I've been skimming for about 10 days.

    It sounds like from several people that I may have missed the spike due to my LS & LR. My nitrates need to be under control so I've initiated more freq water changes until my nitrates have gone down. Once I'm confident that my amm-trites-trates are ~ 0, then I'll focus on the ca/alk parameters. It's only week 2, so I have according to most people another 2-4 wks to go. I'm patient, just want to do things right and learn from everyone's experiences & knowledge.

    my vote would be not to change the water just ride it out, my experience i was to do water changes and it actually prolonged the cycle
