Well I did a 7.5 gallon water change yesterday, my params were still at zero. I started my lights on their schedule yesterday as well. So what next? Cuc? Or should I wait till there's something in there for them to clean up? Lol

I would add like a chromis or a couple clowns and then add a CUC.

That's a big difference. How did the store calibrate your refractometer? Did they use Distilled water AND the pipette that has never once been used in a saltwater tank? These are sensitive devices....once can't just use a 2 year old pipette and RO/DI water from a bucket that has had saltwater in it before.

No...the specific gravity won't affect your other test results.

I still suggest being really patient on this... I did the same thing and added fish within two weeks of setting up tank when ammonia and nitrite is gone... However, the fish I added did not fair well... I can definitely tell that when I add fish a few months later, the fish are having better life... Just be patient, the parameters in new tank is not as stable as estabilished tank and will cause trouble to fish

The reason I asked is because hydromters usually read high as opposed to low

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
CUC first that way you get to test drive your water without the risk of losing a fish.

Ok some of y'all might think I'm dumb, but I almost went and bought 2 true pecs from pet co today. I've asked local fish stores how much for 2 and its 75-80 dollars for both, but pet co has them for 18 bucks a peice. I'm gonna wait bc I don't have my cuc. I'm learning that patience is a hard thing in this hobby.
