Cut Acrylic

    I agree that thicker is better. Not sure how you could test it without just doing it though. The big concern is if the .1 is not thick enough and it blows out or flexes too much under the pressure..you are going to have a real mess on your hands. 37 gallons is a lot of weight to support...couple of hundred pounds anyway..

    Its a 55 gallon that I am working with and I am trying to make a 10gallon sump. My reasoning for buying the thinner acrylic was that the water pressure is going to be the same on all sides of the acrylic pieces (since I'm only using it as baffles within an already existing 10 gallon glass tank), so it really shouldnt matter how thick the stuff is. Please inform.

    Well I finished the sump last weekend, though I haven't had a chance to take pix yet...looking forward to doing that and getting them up here so that you can all make fun of my silicone job!
