Where can I get acrylic cut? I have the dimensions and everything that I need for my sump/fuge baffles, but don't have the tools for cutting acrylic.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Mike

use a jig saw, drehmel tool and razor knife or scoring knife and snap the acrylic. Thats what I used when I made my sump!

I am in the process of building my sump and am cutting plexi-glass. I have found that a jig saw with, not the finest tooth blade, but the next courser one cuts the best. It does not get as hot and melt the shavings right back in behind where you cut. (I hate that.)

The fine folks at Home Depot will cut if for you if you buy the acrylic from them. I am sure Lowes will as well. The assumption is you are looking for basic cuts though..they may not be willing to do fancy cuts.

I am just looking to do basic rectangles (9.75" x 8") with some slits cut in them about 3 inches from the top of the rectangles. I will check out HD tonight, and if not, try to borrow a friends tools for cutting myself.

    Thanks,
    Mike

I bet they will do that, especially if it is a slow night.

yeah, except I live in Alexandria, VA, just outside of DC and people tend to be real jerks here! I hate this Home Depot...I will see what they can do for me, but I may have to wait until I go down to Richmond next weekend to get good customer service!

I had local shop cut mine for me they did a great job and gave lots of tips on how to secure it to glass.
