Oh, and there you are. :) Thank you.

Seems KingFish was also waiting; he scoped this out while I was still typing it. :p

    You're very welcome.

    And the Facebook feed too.
Actually, that was my point. It instantly appeared on the front page once I posted.

Holy write up! Very well done on the build, and definitely and amazing job writing out the thought process, and how it was done and why. This thread will be a mainstay that I steal info from and link to repeatedly;) I'll pay royalties to ya.

    Congrats on the new system

So I started thinking today, and Sanjay's spectral distribution plots came to mind from earlier this year (Feature Article: Spectral Distributions of LEDs: AI-Sol, Radion, Orphek, EcoRay, Mvava — Advanced Aquarist | Aquarist Magazine and Blog).

So I started playing around with things a bit, to do a little comparing of my own. Here's what I came up with. Please realize everything I'm about to show is based of calculations with a touch of approximation; I don't have access to the fancy instruments that Sanjay does. I simply used the information available on the diode datasheets for the types of diodes I'm using, and used some of Sanjay's material as a reference point. I've also factored in the level of current I'm running each of my drivers at.

That being said, I don't believe this is too far off.

Here's the calculated spectral distribution of my fixture, as well as it's comparison to a 14k Usiho MH bulb.

    Not too far off. :)

Also note, my curve is essentially adjustable. With the exception of the violet curve, I can scale up/down any of the other curves, to shift the overall curve as desired. How it stands right now, is how I like it best via my eye. Which makes for an all the more interesting comparison with the MH bulb.

And I should have shown this one yesterday; pretty colors. :D

Looks awesome!! Looking forward to your long term observations!!! I know, I have felt great about my full spec upgrade.

Full spectrum is the way to go in my mind also.

Ahh dude so awesome! Love the graph!
Only downfall is the 300nm to 400nm. But none the less, it is still pretty full spectrum!

    Nice write up.
I figured that full spectrum would be the way to go since it mimics nature, great job whit the addition.
