Sorry! Getting things ready before my surgery.

The radiata isn't sexable, but is an awesome friendly species. I would have to see the whole body and fins to get an idea of health. But the color looks awesome, which is often a great indicator. You can get one Diver's Den for $80.

The eye of that waspfish is indeed cloudy. The common name is misplaced however, as it appears to be a Centropogon australis. They are specifically from Australia, not Japan. There is a waspfish called the Japanese waspfish, but that usually is reserved for the Paracentropogon rubripinnis.

Can you get a couple more pix of the fish with the cloudy eyes? I'm thinking it's a little scorp, altho the pic does look a bit like the Fortescue (C. australis). I'm seeing opercular spines that are saying "scorp".

One thing to consider...whatever it is, if it was really collected in Japan, it's a temperate water fish.

Yes, but as I've mentioned, if the fish is really from Japan, its temp requirements don't make it a good candidate for a tropical tank.

How about a side view?...need to see what the fish looks like, and may have to count fin rays to help ID it.
