I was wondering around Petsmart today and stumbled on this cool little digital thermometer by Coralife. I have to say I am pretty impressed by this thing. Why get excited about a thermometer? Well...

    A) It's digital and goes to the tenths. Very nice.

    B) It's got a Fahrenheit / Celsius switch.

    C) On / off switch.

    D) Long cord on probe.

    D) It's only $6.99!!   8)

    So man, it's worth it.

AND, it's pretty accurate. Plus or minus 1.5 degrees. I tested this actually verses a glass thermometer that I just bought to test this out. It's right there.

This actually is a huge deal for me. I've been whining about my tank overheating a lot lately. Guess what. It's not as bad as I thought. Actually it's not bad at all!!

I was using a little Tetra stick on thermometer (not the rainbow one, but the one with the sharp line that goes across it) and it has been way, way, WAY off. Not sure if it was affected by the algae on the other side of the glass or what, but the Tetra one is saying 85 right now and glass (Aquatic Gardens) thermometer is at 75 and so is the Coralife digital thermometer!

Now I knew the stick on ones stunk, and I've had them go out before, but I never knew they were this bad. GOOD GRIEF!! Was I late to the party!

[smiley=singer.gif] GO OUT AND BUY THIS DIGITAL ONE RIGHT NOW!!! IT'S ONLY SEVEN BUCKS!!

Think She will buy that Phil? ;D

@Birdlady - definitely a good investment, this thing would have saved me a lot of drama had I had this originally. I've been chilling my house down every night with fans in the window for little reason. ::) lol.

    I bought one a pet-smart a few weeks ago.
I love it,will never use those color changing strips again.
and if you dont want another prob in your tank, put it in your filter of refugium.I personally put it in high water flow streams.i feel that would be the more accurate way.
