Does anyone have the Coralife Aqualight Pro Plus HQI metal halide light fixture on their tank? I was wondering how it looked and if their was anything comparable in price. My 75gal reef is running on power compacts now(four 96 watt)bulbs and two(55watt)bulbs. I have a Galaxy coral, some Montipora digitata, a few Brain corals and mushrooms and other polyps. Is it necessary for me to change to halides to grow acropora, turbinara, Gonipora, and the like?

    To upgrade or not?

I have one And I like it, the 10000k are a little to white for me so after 6 mos I changed the bulbs out. The unit is wide and will not fit on a bow front
IMO it is a lot of light for the buck! The leds and actinic are on there own switches and plugs. Both ballasts are electronic on there own plugs and switches.
I also have 2 sunpods they are good, a little cheaper, but have no actinic
Some people have luck growing sps under pc's.
A lot of people have no luck growing sps under pc's, myself included.
