My neon Orange Monti used to be a magnificient piece.
In fact this first photo was taken over 5 months ago

This is the second time I noticed large sections of it dying off.
The first time I dremeled away about half of it, and it seemed to be doing fine and growing well again for months.
Then I notcied this much this morning

I took it out with the big rock it's stuck to. It's wild the color change from the LED's to regular house light. You can see sxome of the large hunks cut off.

NOw it's this. I sure hope it stops, again.

I can't figure out why it's doing this. I only felt that if I didn't act fast- I would love the whole coral.
So now twice, I've taken whole chunks out that are affected.

It had stopped for months is what puzzles me, and now started again recently.

Todd, did you happen to notice my red monti cap? The one just completely got wacked out a few weeks ago, the other one, just fine. So odd how they just will decide to be all like, I'm going to die, watch me!

Is the cap being shaded where the die off is? My spongodes has the same die off in shaded areas but it doesn't spread to other areas and it keeps growing. That's a real nice colony of montipora tpdd, hope you figure it out.

My purple haze monti did the same thing!! Grew quick and beautiful with great color than white patches of death. I never did save it but cant say I tried super hard either.
I love montis, think they are very underrated as people go googly eyed over all the acros. Not that sticks are a bad thing to have lol

No, it's not just in the shaded areas, and it a lot like what I would call RTN.
When it happened before, same coral colony- it seemed to be brownish on the dying section.
    This time it was whiter.
No other colonies have it. It just seems to start and progress in a random section.

Anything near it? I have a valida mini colony growing next to mine and occasionally, the monti gets a white area overnight from the valida stinging it.
