its the way its mixed up. RC has alot higher Alk to promote more growth or keep up w/e you get the point. I think your Mg is low though because the calcium is dropping. As said earlier in the thread Mg acts as buffer to keep those other two in check.

Calcium is up 60 ppm from yesterday. 300 yesterday, 360 today. Mag may have been low yesterday... but a fresh batch should have brought it up if it was low. Alk is also down a full point of dKH. This to me is promising. I'm hoping tomorrow helps bring it even more in line.

Test Date Salinity Ammonia Nitrite Nitrate pH Calcium Alkalinity Temp
    6/2/2013 1.023 -0- 0- 10- 8.4- 300- 13- 80
    6/3/2013 1.024 - - - - 360- 12- 80
    6/4/2013 1.025 - -0- 8.2- 440- 11- 80

Formatting is bad. Basically, pH is down from 8.4 to 8.2, Calcium is up to 440 from 300, Alkalinity is down to 11 from 13, and Nitrate now reads 0 from 10 ppm. I like the new numbers. And the inhabitants look like they enjoy it also.

    They are all expanded nicely.

Mag just tested at 1600 with the Red Sea test... twice. The start of the change was maybe 1560, but first noticeable change was 1600... not even "blue" yet. True blue was probably 1640-1680. This seems rather high...

    11.8 dKH (4.2 Meq/L)
    Calcium - 450 ppm

Yet another issue with using RC, it runs a high magnesium level.
