how many peppermint do you think i should get for 75 gallon
the peppermint shrimp are hit and miss, a aiptasia eating file fish might help but are also hit and miss. there are nudie branches that eat nothing but aiptasia that are natural but cost.
I have the same issue now don't know what to do either, whatever you decide to do document it well so that others can learn.
i had a copperband, beautiful fish but a coral nipper my not so local fish store said that it would be alright with my coral yet as soon as it was added to the tank bam nipping coral. my advise find a different fish or keep one without coral!
I've had a copperband (named Copper) for over a year - first in my old 50 gallon, now in my new 125. he absolutely loves aptasia, and eats frozen just fine. He also has an great personality and is super inquisitive.

They can be finicky eaters, so before you buy, ask them to feed the copperband in front of you. If he eats, then at least you know he won't starve.
The LFS I visit the most has an awesome quarantine procedure they put all there fish through. During quarantine, they also train the fish on mysis and other appropriate frozen foods.
I've also read that copperbands from different parts of the world will be more or less likely to nip at corals deepening on where they where caught. I believe the one I have was collected in or around the Hawaiian island area and has not touched any of my corals.
This thread is from 2011.
LOL - so I wonder how it worked out for the OP?
I didn't even look at the date of the first post - probably still useful info for anyone who may come across it though.
I wish I knew what mine was eating. but he is fat and happy so I really dont ask questions. I think he is eating aptasia and pods.
well only, if you wouldn't have seen it, we wouldn't have had access to your utube post .....I remember the first time I did that - I was going on and on and posting additional responses and even asking questions lol on a 3 year old thread - now I always look at the post date
You have a beautiful tank btw and your copperband is gorgeous!
+1 one the shrimp.
I have used peppermint with great success. But they are hard to keep alive after the aptasia are gone. I have had good luck with Red Sea aptasia x. It's basically kalkwasser from what I understand and can be injected right into the problem site with little to no affect on your system.
thank you - he's my pride and joy as far as fish go. I think I may have gotten lucky with this one - he eats like a bottomless pit, never gets full, but always has room for Aptasia. In fact, I let it grow in my sump so I can feed him a few pieces once in a while ;D
