Do I, or should I install some computer cooling fans above my sump to evaporate off some water?

Why would you want to cause evaporation to occur? If you are having heat problems, then you could just put a clip-on fan down there. But I'm not sure way you would want to make your salinity level rise.

Nah, that will cause evaporation and constant param changes. If you want to blow off heat from the water put 1 in your canopy along with a powerhead making surface agitation.

The answers you get usually depend on the question asked.

No you don't want to evaporate water. Yes you do want to cool your tank. Using a fan to cool your tank by blowing across your sump is perfectly acceptable and a very good way of accomplishing what you want to do.

Cool your canopy if your canopy is hot. Cool your tank if your tank is hot.

Surface agitation is not tank cooling.

How hot is your tank? What heat inputs do you have? What type of lights? Is your tank top open or do you have a canopy? Whare do you live? More information gets better answers.

What's the difference if the fan is blowing on the DT's water or the sump

Surface area. The DT is usually larger, therefore you can cool your system much more easily by blowing it across the DT's surface.
