    I wonder if that is why the Snails are hanging out at the top of the tank? it would make sense. I just added 5 more so i will keep an eye on what is happening a little more close. Thanks Va!!

    Thanks Va! I am gonna keep a close eye on things and see how the crabs are treating their tank mates over the next couple of days.. :)

    my aversion to hermits is that they will eventually become opportunistic and can very well start bothering my corals...that and I found that I had to feed them and that totally goes against my reef/coral first mentality. All I was doing was adding more food to keep the hermits off stealing the corals food. Snails don't compete that way.

    I've never had issues with scarlet hermits, if anything they have been working harder than my snails.

    I'm an invert lover so I have several hermits - blue legged and scarlet. I like diversity :) but I do need to replenish snails on a regular basis but some snails I've had for some time. Go figure.
